Technology Solutions Expert Position Purpose
As a part of our growing product lines, the integration of Machine Control Technology has become a major aspect of the construction industry. This technology has greatly advanced the construction industry and increased the need for individuals who possess the skill set to thrive in this ever-growing industry.
Technology Solutions Expert Essential Functions
- Manage the grade control systems utilized in equipment sold, rented, and serviced by Kirby-Smith Machinery
- Coordinate grade control demonstrations with the internal sales force and customers
- Provide product support and training during demonstrations as well as after-sale support and training.
- Effectively present technological information and train new users
- Develop and maintain a complete working knowledge of the manufacturer’s smart construction products as well as TopCon Grading Systems
- Promote grade control systems directly with salesman and customers as needed through rental, demos, sales, field visits, and office visits
- Develop an awareness of the competition and competitive products and industry trends
- Understand customer’s overall equipment needs and identify new areas of business opportunity
- Sell equipment, parts, accessories, rentals, and services as a total customer solution and build long-term relationships within the territory to maximize customer and company profitability
- Provide timely follow-up on each sale to ensure customer satisfaction
- Use company systems/tools to document, track, follow up, and capture all sales and product support activity in a timely and accurate manner.
- Some overnight travel required
Technology Solutions Expert Minimum Qualifications
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to learn the operation of heavy equipment for the purpose of demonstration and training
- Customer service oriented
- Knowledge of and experience with GPS products preferred
- Experience in problem-solving technical issues
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of computer networks, systems, and software
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of Construction related principles
- 3D model building
- Land/Construction Surveying knowledge with the ability to utilize Land/Construction Surveying equipment is a plus
- Experience with Drones a plus
Technology Solutions Expert Physical Requirements
- Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
- Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold and/or wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors
- Physical ability to perform maintenance on equipment for extended hours of time with continual mounting and dismounting throughout the workday
- Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE
