Position Overview:
The selected candidate will be in charge of coordinating the Maintenance staff in implementing preventative maintenance, production equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, supervising the maintenance team, perform routine inspections, documentation, and reporting. The successful candidate must have excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Responsible for maintaining records and inventory of all parts, tools, and supplies needed for the maintenance of all plant equipment.
- Organize and maintain an inventory of tools, repair parts, and consumable supplies.
- Develop and continuously improve preventive maintenance plans.
- Provide management reports, key performance data, and monitor cost savings.
- Manage existing relationships with suppliers and select and develop new suppliers.
- Perform long range planning and identification of areas that may need improvement.
- Prepare technical reports, document equipment modifications, and develop maintenance procedures.
- Perform both routine and complex maintenance and repairs to plant equipment including pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and general ground maintenance.
- Prepares weekly maintenance schedules, sets priorities, and allocates work.
- Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance technicians.
- Source, hire, and train outside vendors for trade work as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of operational or industrial maintenance leadership experience within an industrial setting is required; years of experience may be substituted for formal Industrial/Electrical Engineering education
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs, are required
- High School diploma or the equivalent is required; Postsecondary education is strongly preferred, but may be substituted for additional years of experience
- Must have high mechanical aptitude and ability. Knowledge of office equipment is required.
- Pleasant and positive attitude working with team members, co-workers, and vendors is critical.
- Strong working knowledge of cutting and welding with various material types, the use of a number of hand tools, and skills in hydraulics, high pressure and low-pressure air systems are all necessary
- Strong working knowledge of industrial electricity, single and three phase up to 480 volts is critical.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills are required.
- Must be able to organize and maintain records pertaining to all described duties
- Self-motivated with excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to make decisions quickly.
- Detail oriented with thorough follow through.
- Willingness to work off-shift and weekends as needed for emergencies or special projects.
Physical Demands:
The employee is required to stand and walk for long periods of time; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move parts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move parts up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
