Posting Summary
Driven by leading researchers, organizers, food producers, students, movement actors and civil society leaders, UVM’s Institute for Agroecology (IFA) will be a hub for agroecology knowledge mobilization. Together we will push boundaries and co-construct impactful research, education, outreach, and action. The Global Programs Coordinator (GPC) will manage day to day functions related to the global programs within the Institute for Agroecology (IFA), working in close collaboration with the Faculty Director, Associate Director of Community & Learning, and the Associate Director of Research. Responsibilities include managing an array of complex, multi-site programs focusing on agroecology and involving research, education, and outreach. The GPC will develop and maintain communication systems, create materials, provide administrative and logistical oversight, and effectively communicate with relevant actors both within and outside of UVM. This position will nurture strong relationships with counterparts around the globe as primary liaison to IFA’s international partners.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one to three years related experience required. Demonstrated program administrative and financial support skills, effective problem-solving skills, organizational and communication skills, working knowledge of software applications used to support office functions, and familiarity with Internet resources. Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, independent judgment, and ability to lead projects with minimal supervision required. Strong people skills and cultural competency, including the ability to communicate and maintain good relationships with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Experience in international context, especially in the global south and in the fields of agriculture, international development and/or food systems.

Desirable Qualifications
Fluency or working knowledge of Spanish and French desirable.

This position is eligible for a fully remote work schedule.
