Description

The Instrument Analyzer Lead serves as plant champion of instrument and analyzer safety issues, resolving questions and issues through familiarity with industry, governmental, and plant safety standards. Manage maintenance work performed by instrument and analyzer technicians and make assignments across the plant to cover maintenance and project workload. Monitors to ensure compliance with our established Mechanical Integrity Instrument Safety System Inspections and Tests. Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge and technical expertise regarding instrumentation and analyzers in general. Work closely with Plant Instrument Engineer to develop, promote, and continuously upgrade our vision for the plant instrumentation infrastructure and reliability culture. Must be able to read and interpret instrument drawings, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic diagrams. Ability to transfer instrument knowledge in both, written and verbal forms to Instrument Techs, other craftsmen, operators, and engineers.

Responsibilities may include

Serve as plant champion for instrument and analyzer issues through familiarity with industry, governmental, and plant safety standards.

Monitor mechanical integrity Safety Instrument System inspection and tests to ensure compliance with established Company and Industry requirements.

Monitor CGA and other analyzer inspections and tests to ensure compliance with established Company, Industry, and Government regulatory requirements.

Manage the training and development of the plant’s instrument and analyzer technicians.

Manage keeping the Instrument and Analyzer craft whole by leading the recruiting and selection process as attrition occurs

Keep abreast of regulations and requirements, and ensure that maintenance, testing, and recordkeeping processes and procedures meet all regulatory requirements.

Work closely with plant instrument and analyzer engineers to develop, promote, and continuously upgrade our vision for the plant instrumentation infrastructure and reliability culture.

Seek out and apply best practices from other Company sites and from industry. Look for opportunities to apply automation and networking to increase the productivity of the crafts.

Provide maintenance and reliability input into new instrument and analyzer project designs, and coordinate installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Required Qualifications

Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

Valid driver's license

3 or more years of direct experience in refining and/or the chemical industry in the instruments and/or analyzers field

Associates degree or higher in Applied Technology – Industrial Instrumentation Technology

Preferred Qualifications

Strong oral/written communication skills and the ability to interact and work in a team environment

Supervisory experience leading front line employees

Computer proficient including applications for Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

The Ponca City Refinery is located in Ponca City, Oklahoma, approximately 95 miles northwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, medium and heavy crude oil delivered via pipeline from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, the U.S. Rockies and Canada. Infrastructure improvements have enabled the delivery of locally produced crude oil by pipeline and truck. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and anode-grade petroleum coke. Refined products are primarily distributed to customers by company-owned and common carrier pipelines to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
