Albany Medical Center Hospital - Hospital and Physician Billing Menands, NY 12204
This is medical billing position. There are positions available in both the Hospital Billing and Physician Billing offices. Overall, this role provides efficient and timely follow up of claims that have been billed to insurance to ensure the appropriate payment is made to Albany Medical Center. An essential part of this role will be to follow up on accounts that are delinquent or have been denied by third party payers. This position is responsible for securing the revenue for services provided to the patients by completing appeals, phone calls, and account review.
Extensive job training and support is provided for this role to ensure knowledge and skills are sufficient to perform the required duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required. AAS degree preferred
- Customer service skills
- Proficiency in office software - Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proficiency in navigating websites
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and in writing
- Ability to multi-task
- Demonstrate organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with other departments within Albany Medical Center
Essential Duties:
- Review accounts to ensure proper billing has occurred to secure payment
- Validate and correct registration and insurance information, correct claims submission
- Research and interpret information to effectively reconcile accounts
- Review and understand payor policy guidelines regarding billing
- Follow internal policies and procedures for accurate account review
- Meet productivity and quality standards
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
