PREFERENCES

  • Prior experience in any one of the following is preferred: School Registrar, School Advisor, Residence Counselor, Designated School Official (DSO), Former position at a Private Post-Secondary School, or Former position in a highly detailed administrative capacity
  • Familiarity and prior use of student databases and/or learning management systems
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite is required

EDUCATION

  • College graduate from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Student liaison
  • Create the monthly Student Activities Calendar
  • Assist with updating the Center’s social media sites
  • Oversee student housing operations and accommodations
  • Plan, promote, and lead internal and external student activities
  • Complete student data entry and learning management system updates
  • Assist with the accuracy and upkeep of student academic files and accounts
  • Work in conjunction with other staff to prepare and host New Student Orientation
  • Encourage and promote student motivation, retention, completion, and satisfaction
  • Assist with updating and maintaining student statuses throughout the Center’s systems
  • Support students with immigration matters, navigating city hurdles, and support overall student success
  • Work with the Directors to promote and implement pro-active measures to increase student academic success and student attendance
  • Act as a referral source for students for the center, banks, post offices, transportation, travel agencies, rental car agencies, recreational facilities, social services, international student organizations, qualified doctors, dentists, counselors, et cetra
  • Work with the Center Director on Student Exchange and Visitor Program (SEVP) and SEVIS documents, data, and matters
  • Obtain and maintain a New York State Education Department (NYSED) – Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision (BPSS) Agent license
  • Become knowledgeable in company-wide, center-specific, state, and accreditation policies and procedures and apply them in all areas of oversight and operation
  • Complete all tasks with the guidelines of the New York State Education Department (NYSED) – Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision (BPSS), Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), and other state and federal authorities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Center Director

SCHEDULE

  • Full time / 40-hours a week
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm EST / Some Saturday

  • $55,000 a year

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, use hands, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

WORK ENVIROMENT

This job operates in a professional office and post-secondary school environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
