Interpretation Assistant Job at Adirondack Experience
The museum is looking for outgoing and enthusiastic individuals with education and experience related to Museum Studies, Education, History, Interpretation, Environmental Education, Outdoor Recreation, Wilderness Studies, or similar fields. The museum will provide training for regional, cultural and natural history, Certified Interpretive Guide (4 year certification from the National Association for Interpretation), and as needed, Wilderness First Aid (2 year certification from Red Cross).
Interpretation staff will lead informal interpretation programs, implement a variety of family and public programs and may work in our exciting, Life in the Adirondacks exhibit, on Minnow Pond Trail or in our indoor and outdoor activity areas and exhibitions.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The main purpose of the position is to conduct various programs that serve diverse audiences at the Adirondack Experience. This position assists in the daily operations of museum programs and participates in the planning and development of museum programs. Interpretation Assistants help visitors make connections between their own lives and museum exhibits, interactives, collections, and programs.
