The primary responsibility of this position…..
- Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet account not assigned to other staff, including annual vendor payments
- Update management reports and graphs monthly
- Work with the Operations Supervisor to:
- Maintain WiseFish data (ie. recipes, cost variances analysis, LCM analysis)
- Prepare monthly financial statement reports
- Review monthly reports
- File annual license renewals
- File monthly fish tax returns
- Cab rationalization reports
- Tracking F/V loans and balances
- Train as back-up for the Operations Accounting positions
- Help prepare documents for audit requests
- Maintain WiseFish P&I inventory quantity and valuations
- Perform some functions of an internal auditor to improve company policies and procedures and insure policy compliance
- Serve as backup for the Financial Accounting position
- Enter journal entries in WiseFish
- Special projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Qualified applicants must successfully pass a conditional post-offer Drug Screen. A Background check is performed on all new hires and re-hires. Must be able to read, speak, and write the English language, and follow both written and verbal instructions. Must have a fundamental knowledge and understanding in the principals of Asset Valuation, Inventory Valuation, Cost Accounting and Financial Accounting. An Accounting degree and/or 3-5 years of related experience is preferred. Prior experience in the fishing and/or seafood processing industry is desirable. Working knowledge of Navision software and other ERP systems is a plus. Strong knowledge of Excel is required. Must be extremely detail oriented, well organized and highly motivated. Must maintain a pleasant and professional manner when dealing with co-workers, vendors, and outside agencies. Must possess the ability to work under demanding deadlines in a fast paced environment and be an integral member of the Accounting Team.
BENEFITS
STARTING WAGE: $58,000-$62,000- STATUS: Non-Exempt Regular - PTO - Medical and 401(k) Benefits when eligible.
