The Inventory Analyst position will be embedded at a customer and will be responsible for performing data analytics and inventory control functions for a 7x24 production spare parts storeroom with over 30,000 SKU’. The goal of this position is to continually optimize the spare parts inventory by ensuring that the correct parts are on hand when needed based on customer machine criticality and total maximum stocking value of the inventory. This position has a direct impact on machine down time by ensuring a minimal stockout rate for spare parts.

This role reports to the Rockwell Automation Program Manager and is located in Columbia, SC.

What you will do

  • Identify viable options to reduce excess stock though proactive inventory reduction
  • Review all replenishments items as being tied to a BOM
  • Review usage of top items per production area for BOM vs Non BOM usage
  • Perform weekly analysis on the part issues for breakdown and maintenance usage
  • Identify surge issuing and corrective action / communications with plant maintenance
  • Reintegrate plant stores items to central inventory
  • Manage consignment vendor stocking, usage and replenishment
  • Monitor both active and non-active inventory levels and provide the customer storeroom manager information related to high usage inventory, excess inventory, and opportunities for reinvestment of inventory reductions
  • Record and document potential obsolescence issues and identity corrective actions for obsolescence items as they are identified
  • Coordinate reviews with the plant maintenance on monthly consumption, top usage items, stocking levels and work order history (Breakdown/PM)
  • Track Metrics for all critical storeroom KPI’s
  • Experience with MRP within an ERP of a Manufacturing Setting
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with a variety of people at various technical and management levels.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills, troubleshooting and strategic thinking to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on data
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree

Preferred qualifications

  • 5+ years of inventory control experience in 24X7 industrial environment
  • Proficient with PC-based reports, data base, spreadsheets and inventory management systems
  • Able to thrive in a high-stress and fast-paced environment
  • Occasionally move, lift and carry objects up to 35 pounds
  • Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc
  • This position requires 100% on site commitment. Remote work options are not available
