SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for an Inventory Specialist to become a part of the Material Management Team by providing professional and proactive assistance with all aspects of material handling for WR Systems, performing responsibilities of physical inventory, material coordinating and handling, storing, packaging, and disposition of material while working in collaboration with WR’s Material Management Team across the organization.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work with the Material Management Teams to perform the following essential functions:Perform physical inventory efforts with impeccable accuracy across the organization, as well as work with Projects providing research and resolution support for noted inventory discrepancies.
Prepare reports and metrics for management.
Create reports in excel for data calls as well as track material-related information.
Perform in depth analysis of database records.
Support inventory database development and testing.
Support various projects and programs with surge support with logistics and material requirements.
Provide support for inventory disposition and tracking, ensuring proper completion of inventory database records, and provides updates for other internal material management trackers.
Develop an understanding of internal and external logistics requirements.
Research various databases to establish material locations, material sources, and disposition.
Oversee federal stock system research programs to validate manufacturer, part number, national stock number (NSN), etc.
Coordinate and perform material management activities related to receipt, storage, packaging, and disposition.
Support and mentor junior personnel through experience and performance excellence.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Formal technical training from Technical School, or Class A/B military school in electronics or similar technical field is preferred.
- Six (6)+ years of experience in:Logistical tracking
Reporting
Record keeping
Warehousing
Performing inventory
Staging
Packing
Storage
Shipping
Material transfer
Issuance
Disposition of government electronic equipment and related material.
- Repair Parts Petty Officer (RPPO) or Work Center Supervisor (WCS) experience is preferred.
- Data driven candidate who is detail-oriented, precise, and a quick learner.
- Ability to perform the following:Operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts.
Read and interpret electronic inventory records.
Write reports and email correspondence in a clear and professional manner.
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
Capable of lifting and carrying material up to 50 lbs.
Stand for long periods of time.
Climb ladders up to 12 feet.
See computer screen.
Perform work within an office and warehousing environment.

- Must have proficient computer skills to operate the Inventory Database.
- Work well within a team but also able to work reliably and responsibly without constant supervision.
- Knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel, and Access.
- Technical or logistics background with electronics is recommended.
