Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Fernlea Nurseries is a North American grower and supplier of garden plants. We are seeking exceptionally reliable employees to provide assistance to our growing staff. We are looking for a candidate for our Jupiter, FL nursery location.
Qualifications:
· Previous Greenhouse/Nursery Experience
· Understanding of insect and disease identifications
· Familiarity with nursery growing conditions and protocols
· Familiarity with WSPSA and Pesticide Awareness and Safety
· Familiarity with tissue and soil testing procedures
· Must be able to lift 30 pounds
· Walk, bend and kneel unassisted
· Able to work extended hours and weekends
· Reliable tranportation
Responsibilities Include:
· Review daily field scouting for disease and pest pressure
· Collaborate to organize soil, water, and tissue sampling for testing
· Understand chemical applications as directed by the Growers
· Update information in Microsoft Office programs
The work environment for this position includes outdoors in full sun exposure. This position should expect to work in a hot humid environment outdoors.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $14.50 - $20.00 per hour
