In this role, responsibilities will include providing information, assistance, and support to staff, IRA/HSA owners, prospective IRA/HSA owners, and HSA employer groups, regarding all facets of Health Savings Accounts and Individual Retirement Accounts. Candidates will possess the ability to collaborate within the department and the organization. The successful candidate will be able to communicate IRA/HSA transactions, problem & research results, and IRS rules. Additionally, this role will interact directly with members, internal team members and other financial institutions, when applicable.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) subject matter expert for the credit union. Sets up and opens accounts for HSA and IRA including Transfers, Rollovers and other servicing account requirements ensuring membership eligibility are met.
- Ensures account openings are completed according to established guideline within policies and procedures including IRS guidelines and eligibility requirements. Secures documentation requirements and for account stipulations. Completes end to end processing of IRA and HSA direct transfer, and withdrawal requests according to owner instructions.
- Performs all transactions efficiently and accurately, in accordance with IRS rules, and established policies, standards and security procedures for correct IRS reporting. Completes departments IRA and Service Requests within service standards as well as provide Help Line internal team service for the requirement
- Responsible in processing and posting incoming mail deposits and withdrawals. Posts IRA and HSA employer/employee payroll group contributions as specifically indicated on employer/employee contribution list. Responsible in balancing work processed for negotiable items; ensuring department accounting center G/L is balanced daily. Monitors special reports to validate codes used for various IRA and HSA transactions for correct IRS reporting.
- Performs activities related to dormant accounts eligible for escheatment to prevent funds to be turned over to the state. Researches and prepares corrected IRS tax forms for proper reporting of transactions of member adjustments including the filing of correction to the IRS. Participates actively and contribute as a team member to achieve individual, department and corporate goals.
- Provides members, branches and departments with IRA/HSA information and all other information related to IRA and HSA accounts including research for supporting documentations. Provides prompt, courteous, accurate member/staff service. Serves as a resource for other team members to provide solutions for member situations.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 years’ IRA and/or HSA experience.
- 2 years’ experience in a financial institution.
- Knowledge of IRA and HSA products, features and services.
- General understanding of regulatory requirements and comprehensive understanding of reporting standards as well as banking products.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to effectively interact with different department representatives and be able to work in a highly demanding environment during IRA and HSA peak seasons.
- Excellent member service skills and phone etiquette.
- Strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to deal effectively with difficult members and individuals both in and outside the credit union.
- Possesses excellent organizational skills, ability to make sound decisions or recommendations.
- Ability to work independently, team player as well as individual contributor.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and able to multi-task.
- Demonstrates ability and desire to thrive in a challenging fast paced work environment.

- This role is based in our Dublin Headquarters.
- Sitting requirements- prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
