ISE is seeking Ironworkers to join our traveling field crew working on both structural and roof raising projects. The individual must be mechanically inclined, a quick learner, and willing to perform whatever tasks are needed on a job site. The ironworker position reports directly to the Field Foreman at each job. This is a position with growth potential to become a Traveling Field Foreman. AT THIS TIME, WE ARE ONLY SEEKING CANDIDATES WITH A RESIDENCE WITHIN 75 MILES OF OUR ROCKAWAY LOCATION. ALL CANDIDATES OUTSIDE THIS RADIUS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

This is a Non-Union Position.

Hours – 40-60 hours/week Mon-Sat depending on workload and schedule.

Travel – Up to 80%. The traveling ironworker must be willing and available to work at jobs up to three weeks continuously at a time anywhere in the continental USA. Generally a one week home period will be granted after three continuous road weeks, which may or may not be a working week.

Tolls and travel expense stipends are included when working away jobs, as are hotel accommodations and flights as needed. For away jobs inside the corporate flight radius, employee must use their own vehicle. There is ample opportunity for overtime during peak seasons after 40 hours a week has been attained.

Core Responsibilities

• Erection or installation of structural steel according to given Blueprints
• Loading and Unloading of structural steel at both the fabrication shop and different job sites
• Setup, maintenance, and operation of all equipment used to erect steel and perform roof raising projects
• Fabrication and/or alteration of structural steel members on site, as needed
• Demo and/or alteration of existing structural steel as part of renovation and addition type contracts

Minimum Skills / Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds on a regular basis
• Previous experience in a construction related field or technical courses/degree in welding

Preferred Skills/Requirements:

• 3G Certified Welder
• Ability to weld using stick, fluxcore, gas shield and MIG type set-ups
• Experience as an Ironworker working on structural projects, performing tasks such as: Connecting, Rigging, Operating (Boom, Lull, Forklift), Bolting, Oxy-Acetylene Torch Cutting/Burning, Layout, Deck Running/Install
• Osha 10, 30, and/or subpart R Coursework or Certifications
• Knowledge of welding techniques and symbols
• Ability to read & comprehend Blue Prints and Shop Drawings
