Lead IT Business Analyst - SAP

Full Time Perm
Shift: Hybrid – 2 - 4 days onsite and/or 1 - 3 days remote
Location: Columbus, OH

The Work Asset Management program consists of three projects- Work Management, Mobile Workforce, and Mobile Mapping. The Work Management Project (SAP) has four sub-teams- Core Work Management, Asset Management, Supply Chain/Materials, and Accounting. This position is to fill the Lead IT Business Analyst role on one of these sub-projects. Each Sub team has a Product Owner, Iterative lead/Scrum Master, Business Analyst, Business SME, and Developers.

The Lead IT Business Analyst - SAP reports to the IT Portfolio Manager and is responsible for requirements development and management, while simultaneously applying their analysis experience managing his or her own complex business projects to reach the best outcomes for the customer and the business.

This role will core responsibilities will include analyzing, validating and documenting business, organizational, and/or operational requirements based solely on the requirements of the business project. The Analyst acts as a liaison between the business area, IT, and other project stakeholders.

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Business Planning - begins eliciting business requirements and modeling processes (as-is/to-be, using Business Processing and/or Value Stream Mapping), recording in standard documentation, and socializing the project with other IT teams i.e. Architecture, Applications, Infrastructure, and Services
  • Definition and Design - facilitates workshops to evolve scope, gathers detailed requirements, develops use cases and begin visualizing the end result, using standard tools and techniques:
  • Requirements Elicitation: Leads, designs and facilitates business engagements to establish scope, business needs, project objectives, outcomes and expectations on business processes
  • Requirements Development: Works to ensure that quality business requirements are produced, accepted and approved by the key stakeholder and business solution designs can deliver effectively
  • Requirements Management: Oversees end to end traceability against quality business requirements using appropriate tools and templates
  • Solution Assessment & Validation: Engages with key stakeholders to influence the solution design to meet business goals, scope and strategy requirements. Provides input into the identification and delivery of project benefits, traceability of requirements and impact of solutions. Develops cross business and service user communications, acceptance test plans and supports testing and implementation

Required Qualifications for Position

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience with business modeling, business analysis, and/or business application support
  • 3+ years of experience working with Agile/Scrum delivery and methods
  • 2+ years of experience writing and executing test scripts
  • 2+ years experience in user story writing and refinement in JIRA
  • 1+ years of experience in implementing or supporting SAP modules

Preferred Qualifications for Position

  • Certified Business Analyst professional (CBAP) strongly preferred
  • Utility experience
  • Knowledge of SAP modules work and asset management
  • Agile/Scrum certification
