What does this position do?
The IT Associate will ensure all employees have access to both the technology they need to perform their job as well as being a resource when problems arise. You will support our team by answering questions and troubleshooting basic technical issues submitted through our help desk. Additional duties will include, but not limited to, identifying and resolving hardware and software failures, installing peripheral devices and updating system software, communicating program rollouts, assigning permissions and allocating user roles, while maintain a comprehensive and active inventory of our physical assets company-wide.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer this person will:

  • Have a working knowledge of both PC and Mac OS, hardware and software.
  • Set up and configures computers, telephones, printers and other peripherals.
  • Manage basic help desk tickets and triage complex technical issues.
  • Install and update company hardware and software as needed.
  • Administer user accounts and role permissions.
  • Order equipment and supplies when necessary.
  • Manage and track equipment inventory across multiple locations.
  • Work with third-party vendors to resolve equipment and software problems.
  • Offer technical support to company staff and troubleshoot computer problems.

What else?

  • Three to five years of related experience providing customer service in a technological environment.
  • Knowledge of a variety of hardware, software, programming languages, and operation systems. Basic knowledge of network protocols and some experience with computer applications and operating systems. May be tested on appropriate computer skills as required.
  • An Active listener with plenty of patience and understanding
  • Has effective communication skills, both speaking and writing
  • Efficient troubleshooting abilities with a keen attention to detail
  • Commitment to learning new systems as they are introduced
  • Ability to problem solve effectively and diplomatically
  • Exercises great organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
