(U) Intermediate IT Support Personnel – Fort Meade, MD
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The selected candidate will:
The IT support personnel oversees, maintains, and administers day-to-day operation of all computer networks including hardware and software and support and training for the special project’s laboratories and personnel. They diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components. They provide the first level of computer and network support to the entire team to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
MINIMUM/GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
BS degree in the following degrees or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Four (4) years of additional appliable experience may be substituted for a BS degree
- Engineering
- Computer Science
- Information Systems

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated experience/knowledge in the following areas:
- Diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components.
- Maintain and administer computer networks including computer hardware, system software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Design, configure, and test upgrades or changes to computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
- Train personnel in computer system use and assist with problem resolution.
- Recommend changes to improve systems, network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
- Gather data pertaining to user needs and problems and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
- Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
- Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to facilitation purchases.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
