Position Summary:

Reports to the IT Director, IT. Responsible for design and development of current and new systems. You will also be responsible for the implementation, training and production support of a variety of systems in support of MTC corporate, job corps and correctional facilities.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the design, development, documentation, writing, implementation, testing, training and support of software systems.
• Maintain and revise existing software as required.
• Recommend improvements and/or redesign systems to adjust to changes in requirements.
• Support System Administrator with operating system, communication, hardware, and other related problems when necessary.
• Provide technical support and excellent customer service.
• Attend computer conferences and seminars as required.
• Maintain technical knowledge of corporate computer systems.
• Provide Data Base Administrator support for optimal database performance by tuning various parameters and database recovery using various hardware/software systems.
• Use call tracking system to document all customer interactions and record technical information.
• Maintain accountability of property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or similar
• Two or more years of JAVA/J2EE and Relational Database/SQL experience.
• Crystal Reports experience preferred.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  

Must be willing and able to travel. Unless waived by management, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
