Job Coaches will have the opportunity to earn $3,000 after 90 days of successful employment!
Job Coaches hired between September and December have the potential to earn:
$500 after their first 30 days
$1,000 after 60 days
$1,500 after 90 days
The Job Coach will support the learning, training, and individualizing process for participants at work. Job coaches work 1:1 with participants at their work site and will help offsite to help employers come up with solutions for participants to be successful in their business. You will be point of contact for any work-related help that participants need and creatively problem-solve to fit the needs of the participant and the employer.
What you'll do:
- Provide direct supports to participants at worksites in the community and offsite
- Plan and schedule weekly job coaching sessions based on participant and program needs
- Initiate plans to motivate employees and/or participants to achieve goals
- Facilitate and maximize production, work behaviors, and functional skills achievements through the implementation of appropriate/effective rehabilitation methods, techniques, and strategies
- Assist employees and/or participants and employers in solving work problems
- Communicate regularly with participants and their support teams
- Maintain documentation to meet funding requirements
- Attend agency meetings and in-service trainings
- Follow safety and security requirements
- Maintain confidentiality and abide by HIPAA requirements
- Demonstrate personal and professional responsibilities
- Use patience, understanding, flexibility, and an ability to adjust to unexpected or different situations; and an ability to both learn and apply new concepts and ideas
- Other duties as assigned
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or combination of education and equivalent experience (4-6 years) in one of the following fields: human services, sociology, psychology, education, human resources, marketing, sales, or business
- One year of related experience required, experience coaching, or teaching others preferred
- Ability to maintain flexible scheduling that could include evening and weekend hours
- Ability to pass Nationally Recognized Employment Support Professional Certification – ASPE’s Certified Employment Support Professionals (CESP) Exam
- Continuing education of four hours yearly in Employment Services – has 24 months from the date of hire to meet the educational requirements and earn professional certification required
- Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members and the public in a professional manner
- Effective communication in both written and verbal formats
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and hit deadlines while maintaining composure under pressure
- Basic math skills
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products and Google docs
- Must be able to carry, lift, push or pull fifty (50) lbs. or more
- A valid Iowa driver license, a good driving record, and ability to provide proof of personal vehicle insurance with a minimum of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident auto insurance liability coverage
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and dependent adult and child abuse background check.
