SCOPE
: The Maasai Group is looking for a Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to support Senior Analysts through all phases of Monitoring and Evaluation projects, including stakeholder engagement, evaluation design, data collection, data analysis, data visualization, and report development.

All TMG employees will need to meet the requirements set forth in Executive Order 14042 and the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force Guidance requiring all covered contractor personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.


PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have the ability to maintain a Top Secret Clearance
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required; a Master’s Degree or higher is preferred. Training should reflect training in qualitative or quantitative research methods.
  • Experience collecting qualitative or quantitative data in foreign countries, including selecting, training or supervising local research teams; overseeing translation of instruments, protocols, and other research materials; and administering instruments in English (or other language, as necessary).
  • Experience with establishing data collection business processes, creating data management practices, and reporting data.
  • Experience with Stata, R, or comparable statistical analysis software, as well as data visualization software.
  • Experience with traditional research methods, including but not limited to: focus group facilitation, surveys, content analysis, textual analysis, and network analysis, as well as familiarity with non-traditional techniques such as participatory evaluation, process mapping, and visual data analysis.
  • Ability to approach problems analytically and holistically, considering the individual problem and the impact on the larger system.
  • Ability to work on complex projects within a multidisciplinary team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The contractor shall perform the following tasks:

  • Supports senior analysts through all phases of monitoring and evaluation projects, including stakeholder engagement, evaluation design, data collection, data analysis, data visualization, and report development.
  • With direction, travels to conduct fieldwork associated with monitoring and evaluation projects, including training of local partners, supervision of data collection, and other tasks.
  • Supports senior analysts with data analysis and data cleaning tasks. Reviews data to identify and correct coding errors and data formatting. Conducts statistical analysis.
  • Provides backup support on project management for research and evaluation projects. Helps define and track project scope, goals and deliverables. Works with senior analysts to define tasks and required resources. Creates schedule and project timeline and tracks deliverables.

DECISION MAKING/JUDGEMENT: This position involves projects and/or assignments requiring considerable decision-making authority regarding procedures, plans, and schedules. Although there are sometimes problem-solving guidelines for problems, there are no existing procedures or instructions for those problems. Ability to work independently or in a team setting is necessary.
