Jackson County is seeking candidates for a Justice Systems Coordinator position. This position provides logistical support to the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC), as well as all grant administration and documentation of the TAD Post-Charge Diversion Program, and serves as coordinator for the Adult Treatment Court (ATC). In this role, the employee manages confidential information and is responsible for incorporating concepts of continuous quality improvement and implementation of evidence-based practices. It requires on-going collaboration with governmental, judicial, and private agencies to coordinate services and assist in the resolution of problems, questions, or requests related to services provided. It participates in Treatment Court services, including pre-screening offenders for placement into appropriate programming, assisting in drug screening sample collection and compiling data to ensure fidelity to evidence-based treatment court standards is maintained and to provide analytics demonstrating effectiveness as it relates to recidivism and other relevant metrics. Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates all aspects of Jackson County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council(Council)
  • Performs administrative duties necessary for the efficient and effective operation of the Council; to include but not limited to; assist with development and posting of agendas, meeting minutes, and correspondence
  • Helps establish the Council's annual goals
  • Works collaboratively with the Council and partners to coordinate development of a strategic work plan, policies, and procedures that are updated periodically, consistent with the Council's mission, goals, and evidence-based practices
  • Monitors the Council's work plans and provides progress reports to the Council
  • Independently researches, analyzes, and provides information to the Council regarding programs which are evidence-based and which may enhance the justice system
  • Obtains and analyzes data and information on existing criminal justice programs
  • Prepares operational and statistical reports to support recommendations
  • Develops and establishes direction for evidence-based strategies across the criminal justice system
  • Researches, prioritizes, and writes grant proposals which are in alignment with the goals of the Counciland subject to the approval of the Jackson County Board
  • Monitors, tracks and collects all data for fiscal and programmatic reporting required forthe Council's grants
  • Prepares and files reports with grant authority
  • Develops and maintains all record keeping systems for the Council
  • Acts as professional liaison to represent the Council to the general public and community members
  • Attends conference and training opportunities for development of evidence-based programming
  • Serves as a resource to collaborating agencies: initiates meetings; plans and implements services for individuals involved in the justice system
  • Promotes and facilitates consumer and stakeholder involvement
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications & Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree in criminal justice or related field from an accredited school, preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the criminal justice system involving law enforcement, mental health, AODA, human services, and/or education fields; which includes 3 years' experience working with external resources and ancillary services, preferred
  • Experience in research, preparation and administration of grants, preferred

  • Knowledge and ability to use a personal computer and software programs including Microsoft Office Suite as well as the ability to learn specialized equipment and testing systems related to business need
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices and ability to handle money and work accurately with figures
  • Knowledge and use of office concepts and procedures including general business and office functions, reading comprehension, typing and keyboarding
  • Skills in creating and maintaining related documentation, files, records, and reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with the public
  • Effective communication skills; be polite, courteous and professional in manner
