Transport Officer

The Okanogan County Department of Juvenile and Family Services is now accepting applications for the position of Transport Officer. This part-time position pay starts at $18.92 per hour. No benefits.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalency with at least two years experience in operating a motor vehicle.
• A valid Washington State Drivers License/proof of insurance/good driving record.

· Ability successfully complete the conditional employment requirements and pre-employment background checks and testing.

· Ability to work independently as well as contribute to a team.

· Very good interpersonal/communication skills.

· Ability to use tact, discretion and courtesy in working with the office personnel and public and interdepartmental contacts.

· Must have the ability to perform basic and routine maintenance of all departmental vehicles ensuring that vehicles are safe and ready for operational use.

Job Responsibilities:

• Drive a Department vehicle to transport youth that are involved to and from departmental services.
• Maintain the care, custody and control of youth being transported.
• Operate and maintains departmental vehicles used for transporting and other job-related equipment.
• Attend job-related training.
• Perform such other duties and functions that may be necessary to assist the Juvenile Department, as directed by the Administrator or Designee. Be subject to on call status or irregular working days and hours as needed.
