To help each student obtain maximum benefit from the educational program by diversifying as fully as possible the kinds of educational materials used. To provide students and staff with a media-technology environment that will stimulate interest, invite research, and promote leisure interaction with technology.
To help ensure that all students are reading at grade level, this position will have a focus on PK-12th grade literacy efforts.
Acts as team leader to coordinate, develop and monitor the K-12 media program.- With the advice of those concerned, formulates overall policies for district-wide instructional media services.
- Holds regular meetings with the K-12 professional and support media staff.
- Periodically meets with each building principal.
- Promotes the use of media instructional materials throughout the district.
- Organizes the storage, cataloging and circulation of media materials for convenience, availability and effective use.
- Keeps administrators informed of the needs and services relating to the media program.
- Provides professional services throughout the day to students and staff.
- Acts as the resource person in matters concerning media equipment and materials and their use in the school instructional program.
- Trains teachers and assistants in the care and operation of media equipment.
- Coordinates with building principals the procurement of media materials and equipment, and submits the media budget.
