Detailed Job Description
The Computer Support Administrator position oversees all aspects of endpoint computing resources for the Electrical and Microelectronic Degree programs, supporting the undergraduate and graduate academic and research curriculums.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides systems administration, lab management to meet the department's Academic and Research computing needs.
  • Confers with faculty and lab manager to determine types of hardware and software required to support computer lab requirements.
  • Serves on teams and committees to define client needs and works with ITS to meet policy compliance.
  • Performs analytical, technical, and administrative work in the planning, design, and installation of new and existing computer systems and virtual server/desktop computing environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory management and SCCM software and system deploys.
  • Familiar with Linux desktop environments and RedHat virtual server deployment.
  • Installs new and maintains existing hardware and software.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate documentation of hardware, software and licenses.
  • Prepares communications through various media.
  • Continually improves technical knowledge of operating and network environments; enhance client subject matter expertise; and enhances customer service and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years experience with
    • successful troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, and printers.
    • installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various operating systems.
    • systems administration, networking, and configuration of Windows and Linux clients and servers.
  • 3 years customer support experience.
