Opening in Hudson River Park, Market 57 will be home to Nom Wah's newest fast-casual location. From second-generation owner Wilson Tang, this new outpost of the beloved Chinatown institution will serve Chinese American classics and rotating Cantonese specialties.
Tang aims to make dim sum an all-day casual affair—serving some of his own riffs on some of childhood favorites.Job DescriptionWe seek a motivated Kitchen Supervisor with a commitment to upholding quality standards and aims to grow with the Nom Wah brand at our Market 57 location. Successful candidates will consistently deliver great service to our customers, maintain high culinary standards and support the Nom Wah team. The Kitchen Supervisor will work with other Nom Wah managers to oversee the team at our new Market 57 location.
Responsibilities
- Employee training and growth
- Manage all daily operations in line with company procedure and standards
- Lead by example and hold team members accountable in line with company SOP
- Provide excellent customer service
- Maintain quality of all food and beverage
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all company spaces
- Maintain a positive work environment and strong sense of teamwork in an open kitchen
- Adhere to all DOH policies and keep spaces DOH ready at all times
- Excellent communication with team members and management
- Addressing issues both within the team and from customers
Qualifications
- Must have a NYC Food Handler’s License
- 1+ year(s) of experience in a similar role
- Fast casual dining experience (preferred but not required)
- Problem solving skills
- Excellent communication, leadership and team-building skills
- Ability to learn and use point of sale system and project management software
- Availability to work a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and some holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
