Laboratory Informatics Coordinator Job at Conway Regional Heath System
Overview:
The Laboratory Informatics Coordinator is responsible for oversight and day-to-day operation of the laboratory interface systems according to all applicable laws, accrediting agencies and policies and procedures in place in the Laboratory. Duties include project definition, scope development, scheduling, resource management, risk identification and mitigation, quality assurance, testing, and change control while following established project guidelines, tools, checklists, templates, budgets and methodologies. This position is primarily responsible for providing support for the development, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing connectivity solutions for outreach clients, but will also provide laboratory expertise to support the health system’s overall electronic health record. A good working knowledge of the laboratory information system (MEDITECH) is essential. The Laboratory Informatics Coordinator must possess interpersonal skills necessary to ensure that optimum outcomes are achieved. The Laboratory Informatics Coordinator will support the Clinical Lab department on project implementation and any issues relating to connectivity for outreach clients and other projects. The Laboratory Informatics Coordinator will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts within and between CRHS departments, outreach clients, as well as MEDITECH and other vendor resources.
Qualifications:
Medical Technologist (Bachelors Degree) or Medical Laboratory Technician (Associate Degree) certification.
Preferred/Recommended:
Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience demonstrating a high level of technical aptitude, exceptional problem-solving skills, troubleshooting skills, and a clear understanding of laboratory computer systems.
Knowledge of laboratory environment and potential hazards
Previous experience with MEDITECH LIS module, inclusive of Reference Lab options
