Title - Landscape Manager

Reports to - Director Club Grounds & Agronomy

The Landscape Manager is responsible for the overall management of the landscape maintenance program for the club, HOA and residential homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage club landscape team
• Maintain relationships with homeowners, creating proposals and selling enhancements
• Responsible for scheduling and managing all work onsite
• Oversee departmental budget and forecasting; revenues and expenses
• Create communication pieces to the community on status updates, seasonal impacts on landscape color, etc.
• Maintain landscapes throughout golf course, club amenities, residential homes and common areas, upholding a magnificent visual appeal to our members
  • Oversee all weeding (chemical and manual), lawn mowing, string trimming, edging, mulching, pruning, and raking
  • Install new landscape plantings and annual color (spring and fall) at residential homes, on the golf course, and around the club
  • Water and maintain new plantings as well as annual plantings
  • Participate in leaf removal during dormant seasons, as needed, throughout property
• Basic knowledge of proper chemical and fertilizer applications to maintain a healthy and aesthetically pleasing landscape
• Manage snow removal of homes, COA, and HOA
• Partner closely with golf course staff
• Basic knowledge of flowers and plants native to the surrounding area
• Safe operation of all hand tools, large and small equipment such as push mowers, zero turn mowers, skid steer, tractors and mini-excavator
• Keep all work areas orderly and neat
• Attend department head meetings as necessary
• Any other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to operate landscape machinery such as push rotary mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, utility vehicles, and riding mowers.
• Working knowledge of perennials, shrubs, trees, and annuals.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles.
• Plant knowledge/Horticultural Practices knowledge a plus.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions in English.
• Ability to work in a team environment and operate in a safe, professional manner at all times.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
• Ability to learn and navigate the property to complete assigned job tasks.
