As a global glass manufacturer, we know the way we conduct our operations must make a difference and we’re proud of the progress we’ve made in shrinking the negative impact of our operations, but there’s much more to do. We are committed to considering the future in all we do, and a successful manufacturing innovation lead for sustainable design will leverage experience, know-how, external perspective, and collaboration to deliver next generation, more sustainable manufacturing designs. The net result will provide competitive advantage through step change process advancements, reduce in half the negative impact of glass melting operations and enable Owens Corning to meet 2030 Corporate sustainability objectives. The new and more sustainable designs will enable higher reliance on renewable energy and eliminate reliance on non-renewable energy but not limited to natural gas, fuel oil, coke, diesel, propane, and LPG. Success will require facilitating, collaborating, developing and implementing new designs with support from technical experts as well as with Corporate leadership.

• Demonstrates a commitment to safety:

• Implement a personal safety action plan and review with leader.
• Ensure rigorous compliance to standard safety procedures and OC corporate policies.
• At ALL times, alert teammates of potential safety risks and stop unsafe behavior.

• 
  Lead key projects:

• Develop, design, and implement new processes lowering OC’s sustainability carbon footprint.

• 
  Connection:

• Strong sense of teamwork and collaborative capabilities facilitating across Science and Technology, Corporate Sustainability, Manufacturing, and Capital Delivery.
• Communication and storytelling capabilities connecting sustainability vision to actionable items.

• Technical Expertise:

• High temperature manufacturing process designs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 
  A Bachelor’s Degree in Architect, Ceramic, Chemical, Civil, Materials, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Physics, Sustainability, Technical and Applied Sciences or equivalent Engineering degree but an Advanced Degree is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% for supporting operational development and deployment across our global enterprise manufacturing facilities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• At least 3 years of manufacturing and or development experience in high temperature industrial manufacturing processes.
• General computer skills (ex. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), familiarity with databases and control systems, mathematical and analytical skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Facilitating or leading innovation and or process development.
• Effective verbal and written communications clearly connecting and conveying technical concepts, trial and learning plans, results, and recommendations.
