Position Summary:

The primary function of the Lead Educator, Learn and Play Tampa Bay is to facilitate a playful experience for children and caregivers at GCM’s Learn & Play Tampa Bay program. Educators for Learn & Play Tampa Bay embrace best practices in early childhood education to improve the key social/emotional, literacy, numeracy, and parenting skills for diverse families in Tampa Bay. Educators value relationships with early childhood professionals, families, and services throughout Tampa to connect families with the resources needed for their child(ren). Educators build trust and authenticity within the community to improve impact.

This is a part time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Education or their designee. Available Monday-Friday 8am - 1pm. This is a seasonal grant-funded position.

Essential Functions:

• Leads in delivering high quality, engaging educational demonstrations, programs, and workshops to diverse families.
• Assists in daily set up, clean up, registration, and maintenance of the Learn and Play Tampa Bay program.
• Maintains a high level of visibility, energy, and enthusiasm in all interactions with the community.
• Responsible for tracking and stocking inventory and maintaining office, vehicles, and satellite sites related to Learn and Play Tampa Bay.
• Recruits and markets for Learn and Play Tampa Bay in designated areas of the Tampa Bay community.
• Responsible for ensuring that all locations are clean and prepped for daily activities and then cleaned after Learn & Play programs.
• Ensures that all Learn & Play spaces and programs are welcoming and inclusive for all guests.
• Directs the support staff and volunteers in the day-to-day activities.
• Engages with caregivers in a collaborative, culturally competent manner.

Non-Essential Functions:

• Other duties as required.

Skills/Experience:

• Enrolled/Acquired degree related to education or equivalent experience.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• 2-3 years of experience in education, informal or formal settings, especially at the PreK or K/1 level.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
