Role Overview
At the heart of Fisker’s visionary product lies a state-of-the-art powertrain, and you can play a central role in its delivery. The Lead Engineer, HV Battery Testing Engineering will have to lead & be responsible for validation planning, physical testing, and certification of traction battery pack systems for battery pack applications. The lead engineer is expected to deliver high quality results in support of vehicle program milestone events and core engineering test projects. In addition, this position requires communicating with the battery team members, including Design Engineer, Thermal Engineers, and Electrical Engineers to meet all battery engineering performance criteria. Fisker is a fast-moving technologically focused startup, and in this context, you will need considerable flexibility and adaptability to deal with the rapidly developing requirements at the leading edge of EV Thermal and Powertrain implementation.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and design verification plans with efficient test timing.
  • Manage test requests, schedules and facilities.
  • Execute functional, safety, and thermal performance tests on battery pack systems.
  • Coordinate and direct certification testing at external test sites.
  • Identify and facilitate the resolution of design issues.
  • Perform data analysis, generating comprehensive technical reports.
  • Develop intellectual property ideas for electrified vehicle systems.
  • Create and publish standardized test methods.
Qualifications
  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Automotive Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience executing development testing or product validation from large format battery systems or hybrid/electric vehicle systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing product test planning, test equipment specifications and set-up.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience validating and analysing lithium-ion battery performance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Automotive Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience executing research & development testing or product validation from large format battery systems or hybrid/electric vehicle systems.
  • 5+ years of experience performing product test planning, test equipment specifications and set-up
  • 5+ years of experience validating and analysing lithium-ion battery performance.
  • High voltage safety training
  • Experience in user level or better software skills - MATLAB, LabVIEW, CANalyzer and Microsoft Programs

Additional Requirements
  • Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally, as required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends where needed to meet deadlines and company goals.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
Expected Salary Range: $74,900.00 to $208,650.00 per year.
Additional compensation: Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker’s equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

Benefits: Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.

The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
