Responsibilities:
  • Executes the day-to-day operations of the Regulatory Compliance program, including the dissemination of new and revised regulatory guidance, maintaining and updating centralized monitoring of regulatory requirements, and supporting business units with the interpretation and execution of regulatory requirements

  • Continually assesses day to day operations, policies and procedures and facilitates process improvement to meet corporate regulatory compliance expectations

  • Monitors compliance department datamining reports for various functional areas for potential risks and areas of non-compliance

  • Leads the organization in preparing for and responding to external regulatory audits to ensure the appropriate data submitted is accurately and on time

  • Provides guidance and support for the execution of internal compliance reviews, compliance risk assessments and corrective action plans

  • Supports business units and medical offices by collaboratively facilitating the development of processes and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance, including conducting regulatory research to address department inquiries, participation in business process improvement efforts and compliance improvement initiatives. Communicates with business and clinical leadership regarding events, training, audits (external and internal) and processes related to regulatory compliance initiatives

  • Summarizes all incoming regulatory guidance, distributes to business area leaders and affected providers and employees

  • Monitors implementation of regulatory guidance by providers and medical office employees

  • Reviews all documentation evidencing implementation for completeness. Provides continued oversight to open items until appropriate implementation has been completed

  • In collaboration with the VP, Regulatory Compliance, performs internal compliance reviews, compliance risk assessments and creates optimization plans. Monitors regulatory compliance by reviewing datamining reports, hotline cases and other intake forms, including maintaining a documented process

  • Leads the organization in preparing for and responding to external regulatory audits/inquiries to ensure the appropriate data is submitted accurately and on time

  • Supports the execution of internal compliance reviews and corrective action plans

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree in related field or JD preferred
  • Minimum 5 – 8 years’ progressive healthcare compliance related experience
  • Experience in implementing an effective compliance program
  • Strong knowledge of and experience working with applicable federal, state and local compliance laws/regulations, access, and the release of information
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with management, staff and regulatory agencies
  • Excellent organization, decision making, written and oral communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with government sponsored programs or regulatory and government affairs preferred
