The Green Bay Broadway Mill is searching for Lead Converting Technicians for the upcoming Through-Air Dryed (TAD) Converting operation. A Lead Converting Technician will have broad responsibility for safety, environmental compliance, reliability, and technician development within an ownership-based work system. This role will be part of the commissioning and start-up team for the TAD Product system.

A Lead Converting Technician will work a twelve (12) hour rotating shift that includes days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. We offer highly competitive starting wages which are determined by experience. In addition to a great starting wage, team members also receive a full benefits package, overtime opportunities, two (2) weeks of vacation prorated for the first year, along with the opportunity to work in a progressive, safety conscious work environment.

External applicants are eligible to receive a sign-on bonus equal to 15% of the total earnings from the first 90 calendar days of employment.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Operate converting rewinding, packaging, automated material handling and trailer loading equipment as designed thru the correct use of process limits
  • Operate equipment to defined product standards and deliver product at specification targets.
  • Function as a SME/trainer on equipment and provide input for training material development
  • Flow to work to assist the team and fill resourcing gaps
  • Ability to critically think through on-shift operational and process issues and develop/implement plans to resolve.
  • Responsible for asset strategy execution.
  • Teaching/coaching/building skills on-shift team to execute standard work process (escalation, troubleshooting, standard procedures, etc.)
  • Perform simple repairs, equipment inspections and other components of equipment asset strategies. Understand equipment loss/stops and work to improve
  • Owner (PPR) of a specific area of the complex and responsible for asset strategy execution and improvements
  • Provide assistance across the product system utilizing your comparative advantage.
  • Work with technical resources to acquire knowledge and troubleshooting skills that will help support the reliability vision
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with the team to improve
  • Assist with line changeovers, SSD and PIT STOPs
  • Operate Lift truck or other material handling equipment
  • Coaches and maintains high expectations for finding, fixing defects and coordinating resources to get back to base condition
  • On-shift, Safety, Quality, Training functional leader

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Experience using a computer OR tablet OR smartphone
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, or military environment OR completion of post high school education in a manufacturing/industrial centered program
