Job Description: Lead Material Handler

Location: 35 Connecticut River Bend Place, Claremont, NH

Report To: Plant Manager

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating the activities to support successful material handling. Monitoring and documenting every aspect of materials flow; capturing and analyzing data to make changes that will improve material flow, eliminating wasted time and travel as well as decreasing downtime at the work centers.

A material handler number one role is to make sure an operator never has to leave there machine or shut it down.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Manage the material handler team to ensure timely delivery of parts to the operators.

· Manage and report all cycle counting activities and findings.

· Pull components for production

· Drive shop Cleanliness and organization

· Place finished goods and components in the proper locations

· Order supplies as necessary

· Develop and implement internal processes to improve material flow

· Develop and execute cost reduction projects.

· Implement and maintain 5S practices.

· Understand and follow ISO 9001.

Skills & Abilities:

· Excellent management skills.

· Fork truck driving experience.

· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

· Strong project management skills.

· Exceptional organizational skill with ability to prioritizing multiple tasks.

· Persistent, upbeat and high energy.

· Strong business acumen.

· Advanced skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

· Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Education & Experience:

· 3+ years experience in supervising and material handling in a manufacturing environment.

· APICS or CPIM certified

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.79 - $27.40 per hour
