As Learning & Development Specialist you are responsible for providing daily administrative and project support and oversight, as part of the HR function, with an emphasis on training. The role will also include general HR administration, legal compliance, training, associate relations, new team member onboarding, and special projects that support a Best Places to Work employer and culture. In this role, you will be a collaborator, partner, advocate, and provide guidance to team members within the organization. This position is expected to apply knowledge and expertise to carry out responsibilities effectively. The position reports to the Director, Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training

  • Partner to identify, assess options, and implement training critical to employee education and skill enhancement
  • Plan, design and/or conduct training activities
  • Seek out industry related external training and make recommendations to leaders
  • Maintain correct and accurate training records within the internal tracking system
  • Collecting feedback in response to training activities
Employee Relations/Top Workplace Culture
  • Employee advocate
  • Assist in facilitating employee engagement activities to continuously build on a Best Place to Work culture
  • Actively watch for opportunities to showcase Pepper employees and culture
Candidate Cultivation and Onboarding
  • Partner with support teams to prepare for new hires
  • Participate in campus career fairs and university networking opportunities
  • Assist in the overall planning and execution of the intern/co-op program
Administration

  • Prepare Ad Hoc reporting as requested or required
  • Suggest best practices based on industry knowledge and company needs

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Communications, Business or equivalent experience
  • 5 years prior experience in Education, Training, HR or related area of focus
  • Prior experience in commercial construction, or similar industry, a plus
