  • Full time- scheduled up to 40 hours a week (time and a half on holidays + overtime available)
  • Typical shifts are 8 or 10 hours between 7am and 10pm, overnight available as well
  • Weekend shifts available (one or two a month; or strictly part time weekend coverage available)
  • Starting pay $24 an hour for new grads, more for those with experience, let's chat!

Town & Country Animal Hospital (Fairfax, VA) and Columbia Pike Animal Hospital and Emergency Center (Annandale, VA) has immediate openings for Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join our teams! New grads are welcome to apply!
Our ideal candidate:

  • possess the ability to multi-task & prioritize assigned tasks alongside current/urgent needs

  • utilizes their excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • is flexible to work weekdays and some weekends to support hospital operations

Our LVTs are responsible for:

  • surgery preparation, with pre- and post- operative care
  • administering anesthesia and patient monitoring
  • dental cleanings and dental procedures
  • hospitalized & triage emergency patient nursing, and laboratory testing
  • assisting veterinarians with animal care during appointments, surgeries, and all aspects of treatment procedures
  • communicating clearly with the doctors, support staff, and clients
  • supporting the team with maintaining inventory and medical records

An LVT should enjoy working with a diverse group of people and animals while maintaining professionalism and flexibility in the face of varying expectations from clients and co-workers. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain organization, time management, and attention to detail at all times.
  • Demonstrate empathy and sense of urgency when responding to client/patient requests and emergency situations.
  • Treat all patients, clients, and hospital staff with respect and compassion.
  • Remain professional and courteous when interacting with clients and patients; staff may be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, contagious diseases, and unpleasant odors and noises.
  • Possess strong work ethic, dedication to team work, and initiative to work towards the common goal of the team and hospital.

Position Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Availability to work weekends and days leading up to and after all major holidays
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20lbs; physical demands include walking, bending/kneeling, reaching, lifting, and repeated hand and arms movements
  • Must be at least 18 years or older.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Virginia as a Veterinary Technician (LVT)- or with license pending!
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Job Type: Full-time and part-time available at both locations
Availability Expectations:

  • Flexible scheduling is available.
  • TNC has shifts available between 7am and 8pm Monday through Saturday.
  • CPA has shifts available 24/7/365 with GP and ER.
  • Overnight and weekend coverage available as well!

Salary: Starting rate of pay is negotiable and commensurate with experience, starting rate for all new grad LVTs is $24/hour
