Lien Coordinator

Pay Rate $16k/$18k per hour (DOE)
Location : Boca Raton, FL On Site
Full Time 8:00AM / 5:00PM M-F
Contract : Permanent

Position Summary:

The Lien Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that Insurance Companies and subsequent attorneys are aware of any lien that may be filed on any case in which the firm was discharged. Primarily, the Legal Assistant sends lien notices to the appropriate parties, drafts lien ledgers notating the work done on a case, drafts legal notices when a case goes to litigation, continually updates the case files after discharge, and assists in the resolution of liens with the appropriate parties. If a payment is made without honoring the lien, the Lien Coordinator will be responsible for putting the insurance company and subsequent attorney on notice of the failure to protect the lien and work to resolve the issue.

Essential Job Functions:

• Able to effectively communicate professionally via telephone and email
• Communicating with other law firms and insurance companies regarding outstanding liens
• Drafting lien notices and lien ledgers
• Ensuring that statutory deadlines are met
• Drafting and sending Failure to Protect notices
• Updating and maintaining a list of discharged cases
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Experience/Requirements:

• Full-time, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, M-F
• High school/GED diploma required
• Strong customer service skills
• Legal experience, including experience with clients, is a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers effectively and efficiently
• Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize workload
