LIGHTHOUSE DRIVER
JOB SUMMARY: The Lighthouse Van Driver is responsible for transporting school-aged children, and other authorized staff, safely and efficiently over specified routes to/from school/home and/or various activities. The Van Driver also conducts pre-trip inspections, observe safety regulations and policies, and enforce student discipline on the bus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Drives students to and from the LightHouse for after-school and summer programs and various program activities.
2. Is jointly responsible for the safe condition and cleanliness of the van interior.
3. Maintains student control and makes necessary reports on disciplinary problems to the program coordinator.

4. Assist coordinator with implementing behavior strategies to reinforce desired behavior and to eliminate undesired behavior.
5. Follow all safety rules and ensure that the students follow them while on the vans.
6. Reports any hazardous conditions to the Program Coordinator.
7. Assist the Coordinators by monitoring students at the LightHouse site and on field trips.

8. Gives two hours advance notification if you will be unable to ride on your assigned route.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the after-school Program Coordinator
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The Driver must have a high school diploma or GED, or be working to obtain a GED. He must have a Louisiana Chauffeur’s Driver’s License, a good driving record, and adequate insurance coverage.
