Line Cook
Oakwood Country Club is a private club located in Coal Valley, IL, a 10 minute drive from the new 74 bridge. The Club offers its members, a great golf course, casual and formal dining, a banquet facility that seats 200 people and two swimming pools.
Job Summary
Works in concert with the Chef to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen and banquets. Assumes Chef’s responsibilities during his/her absence.
Job Tasks (Duties)
1. Assumes responsibility for the sauté station during a la carte service
2. Assists the Chef with preparation and execution of banquets
3. Ensure that all safety, sanitation, and other standards are consistently met
4. Assist the Chef with cost control to meet the targeted food cost
5. Helps plan specials and new menus
6. Assists with monthly inventory
7. Keep the Chef informed about product levels and potential issues
Qualifications
1. 3 to 5 years’ experience in a la carte and banquet execution
2. Able to multi-task and work any stations as needed
Typical Schedule amounts to 38 to 40 hours per week with no late nights and occasional overtime.
Off Monday or Tuesday (unless there is a golf outing)
Wednesday through Saturday 4:00pm to 8:30pm (daytime hours available)
Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm (6:00pm during peak season)
Must be flexible and able to work most holidays. The Club is closed on Christmas
Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Compensation & benefits
Hourly wages: $14 to $19/hr based on experience
Annual Christmas bonus, performance bonus, additional gratuities averaging to
$1,500/year
