Role Summary

The Line Maintenance Planner II is responsible for ensuring that all assigned Maintenance Program requirements, Airworthy Directives, modifications and deferred maintenance are effectively planned and executed at Horizon Air. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations that are operation critical and makes decisions related to flight safety.

Key Duties

  • Run Alert report query ensuring the company is not at risk for an over fly.
  • Develop and maintain Work Orders for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance items as required for duty assignments.
  • Ensure that parts, tooling and materials are scheduled/routed to the job site to support the planned workload.
  • Plan maintenance work packages based on the availability of planned man-hours ensuring minimum aircraft downtime and a balanced workload.
  • Reconcile the daily maintenance plan as aircraft swaps occur, reassign planned work, review the work plan with the shift manager/supervisor, and initiate or maintain communications on planned maintenance assigned to out-stations in order to meet the demands of the workload.
  • Coordinate nightly work scopes with Portland (PDX) Base maintenance and the maintenance out-stations, with follow up as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Heavy Maintenance, Fleet Planners and the Materials department to coordinate stagger plans for landing gear, engines and other heavy maintenance components as needed.
  • Work with Maintenance Control, QX-MOM and Technical Services on the accomplishment of maintenance deferrals and maintenance follow-up items affecting the daily workload.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Gate Maintenance and Leadership for any Maintenance that must be done during the operational day.
  • Maintain knowledge of TRAX functions as they pertain to the planning environment and maintain, and update forecast in respect to the duty assignment.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 2 years of experience in maintenance planning, aircraft routing, operations, business analytics, or aircraft and engine maintenance.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Valid state issued driver’s license.
  • Ability to effectively analyze, problem solve and make decisions in the planning of line maintenance events including the unexpected and alternatives to reaching goals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Trax.
  • Knowledge of General Procedures Manual (GPM) and other company manuals.
  • Understanding of Horizon Air Operations Specifications.

Salary Range

$59,400 - $89,000 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
