We have the following position at our Coachella Compost division.

Loader Operator

The Compost Loader Operator is responsible for operating a loader in and around the Compost facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Operate a loader in and around compost facility.
• Develops windrows, spreads out material for pre-cleaning and loads organic materials into transfer trailers, roll-off boxes or other areas of compost facility throughout the day.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor that could involve various forms of general labor during slack periods
• Reviews daily compost schedule.
• Inspects and prepares daily pre-trip for assigned equipment.
• Maintains daily inspection log and other documentation needed by the supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Must have a valid Class “C” California Driver’s License.
• Must have excellent driving record and ability to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Requires 2 years related experience and knowledge of procedures related to transportation function.

PHYSICAL:

• Required to regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• This individual must be able to work effectively outdoors and under extreme seasonal weather conditions.
• Potential hazards are exposure to excess amounts of dust, chemical exposure due to illegal disposal of hazardous waste or improper handling of materials.
• Also, possibility of being hit by flying debris, possibility of stepping on or being cut by sharp objects and exposure to loud noise.
• The employee must have and use the company required safety equipment that will make his/her duties safe.
• *Required- Hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses/goggles, work boots w/steel inserts, earplugs, dust mask, gloves.
• *Optional-Support belt.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.90 - $27.15 per hour
