Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
This position will work closely with loan officers by assisting in the preparation of loan documentation for new loans, renewals, and extensions. In addition, a loan assistant will prepare for all loan closings including but not limited to working with the loan officer and third parties to ensure all necessary documentation is in place, reviewed, and acceptable. The loan assistant will also be responsible for all follow-up after the closing to insure all documentation is correctly executed and all collateral documentation is properly perfected. This position will work closely with the loan officer to clear up any outstanding technical exceptions and to keep all loan files clean and up to date. Also, the loan assistant will work closely with customers helping them with loan and other bank product related questions. The loan assistant will also look to cross-sell bank products when appropriate and be a resource for customers in helping them find solutions to their financial product needs.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

- Order third party documentation (i.e. flood certifications, credit reports, title work, lien searches).
- Request appraisals to be ordered from Appraisal Review.
- Request and review all documentation needed prior to preparation of loan documents.
- Prepare loan and modification documents timely and accurately.
- Work with loan officers to keep up with all loan maturities in a timely manner.
- Work with loan officers to correct or rectify any technical exceptions in a timely manner.
- Regular use of fax, copier, and scanner.
- Explain, promote, and cross sell bank products and services.
- Accept loan payments and handle loan transaction requests.
- Respond promptly to customer requests, problems and needs.
- Handle customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Adhere to all governmental regulations and bank policies and procedures as directed.
- Assist lenders and loan assistants in answering phones.
- Maintain a positive attitude and working relationship with all team members and customers.
- Maintain good punctuality and attendance to work.

Education : High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
