Loan Compliance Specialist Job at FCB Banks
JOB SUMMARY:
The Loan Compliance Specialist is responsible for completing quarterly audits and ensuring bank compliance with current and emerging regulations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Ensures assigned audits for loan compliance are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Works closely with Loan Compliance Officer to research emerging regulations and complete periodic review of existing regulations for bank compliance.
- Works closely with Compliance Department peers to ensure denied and withdrawn loan files meet FCB Guidelines and Federal Regulations.
- Makes recommendations to VP of Compliance for changes in policy or procedures as deemed necessary to stay in compliance.
- Notifies VP of Compliance of potential areas of risk identified in audits.
- Participates in the development and presentation of training on regulatory compliance and internal control procedures for lending staff and Senior Bank Management.
- Reports directly to the Vice President of Compliance.
- Performs additional tasks and projects as assigned.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
2 years’ experience in Loan Quality Control or Loan Compliance Audit preferred- Excellent communication skills (oral, listening, written and presentation)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
- Critical-thinking skills—Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify areas of risk and recommend solutions
- Organized, inquisitive, innovative problem-solver—Must have the ability to perceive, understand and interpret facts quickly and precisely
- Organized and thorough—Must document and recollect any written or oral guidance that was provided to lenders or loan production staff regarding loan compliance procedures or policies
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of:
Bank operations, policies and procedures, related federal and state laws and requirements- Truth-In-Lending
- Legal documentation requirements for Commercial Loans
- Bank products and services
- Deposit account rules/regulations
- Computer system and software
- Microsoft Office suite proficiency
