POSITION SUMMARY: Provides accurate and timely lending support for a variety of duties associated with Loan Operations to all areas of the bank while ensuing applicable policies, procedures, and regulations are followed. Interaction with internal and external clients is expected to provide an exceptional customer experience at all times. Answers inquiries, researches and problem solves loan related issues. Areas of responsibility may include balancing general ledger and various internal accounts, preparing loan documentation, reviewing files, perfecting collateral, and maintaining various tickler lists or systems, or entering and maintaining new/renewed loans.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of loan-related transactions to customers’ accounts. Has oversight and accountability to specific loan operational areas of expertise. Ensures ongoing duties are completed as required. Is the Bank’s subject matter expert relating to their area of loan operations focus.
2. Prepares, reviews, and maintain loan documentation and account information for all types of loans. Compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data used for the completion of loan documentation and bookings. Contacts suppliers of information to resolve questions, inconsistencies or missing data. Identifies and interprets data to be entered. Ensures ongoing account maintenance is accomplished.
3. Proofs/verifies accuracy of work. Compares data entered with source documents. Reviews error and maintenance reports and makes corrections as appropriate. May review accounts, collateral, or files to ensure bank’s collateral interest is recorded timely and accurately. Researches and resolves daily non-post or exception issues. Follows up and monitors the receipt of documentation and maintenance requests. Establishes and maintains various tickler systems by entering new items, deleting items that have been received and entering follow-up comments when applicable.
4. Provides customer service by assisting customers regarding payments, payoff quotes, general questions, etc. Answers questions from internal and external customers and troubleshoots issues, ensuring that prompt and accurate problem resolution occurs to ensure satisfactory customer service. Completes credit references/verifications/audit confirmations on loans, including participation loans.
5. Completes all stages of imaging for denied/withdrawn applications, Loan Committee packages, and new/renewed/existing loans including: prepping, scanning, indexing, and record retention. Ensure quality images can be viewed by user and documents are accurately placed within various folders.
6. Maintains various record keeping systems. Maintains up-to-date procedures for all job-specific tasks.
7. Ensures adherence to all applicable compliance and regulatory requirements.
8. Serves as a backup to duties performed by other Loan Operations employees.
9. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus additional training in banking and/or loan operations.
Experience
- No minimum experience requirement
- 1 year related experience preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed largely within the Bank with limited chance for personal injury. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours. Occasional travel between offices may be required. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment. Some bending, turning, and twisting required. Serves as a representative of the Bank at appropriate functions.
