Logistics Associate 2-Onsite-Columbia,MD-1st Shift
Summary of Position
This role will be responsible for managing inventory through the use of a computerized database system. The primary objective will be to maintain adequate levels of stock to meet daily distribution demands while minimizing excess supply. All duties are performed in compliance with GMP/GTP, American Association of Tissue Banks Standards, and Smith and Nephew Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The candidate should have a commitment to high standards of quality.
Responsibilities/Job Duties
  • Assists in the management of all materials, including but not limited to: cGMP raw materials, NON-cGMP raw materials, common supply, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) supplies, Work-in-Process (WIP), and Finished Goods Inventory (FGI).
  • Maintain inventory files/records in order to provide on hand inventory levels for cGMP, Common Supply, WIP, and FGI inventory.
  • Issue materials from cGMP and common supply as requested or in the form of kits to Manufacturing.
  • Move product between manufacturing, quality control, and logistics.
  • Assist in processing returned product per RGA requirements.
  • Process paperwork and the physical destruction for all material as required.
  • Perform and assist in performing physical inventories as required.
  • Assist in replacing tanks such as nitrogen tanks as required.
  • Assist in shipping finished product per departmental SOP’s.
  • Identify areas for improvement in efficiencies and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with management of any inventory or equipment issues.
  • Assist as directed with special projects designed to improve the distribution processes.
  • Other duties as assigned by operations management.

Education and Training/Certification
Required:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0 - 1 years within an inventory/material control role.
Preferred:
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year within an inventory/material control role in an FDA regulated controlled environment.
Related Work Experience
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and QAD.
  • Strong planning and organizational skill.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required at times.
