Olympic Disposal is looking for a safety conscious Long Haul Driver with valid Class A CDL to join the team at our location in Sequim, WA.

This is a long haul truck with a 53 ft. trailer attached and is a physically demanding job.

Schedule is Monday - Friday, with some occasional weekend work as needed.

Starting pay range is $25.50/HR to $27.00/HR DOE

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Ability to safely operate a long haul truck with 53 ft. attached trailer carrying materials upwards of 100,000 lbs. on specified routes.
• Ability to read and comprehend work orders and route sheets.
• Ability to place tarp on open top container before leaving Mill.
• Haul open top containers to and from local mills to designated drop off.
• Waste experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
• Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Ability to comply with all transportation laws and procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Extensive physical activity. Requires ability to lift over 60 pounds.
• Requires ability to climb up and down ladders.
• Work environment involves exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, which require following basic safety precautions.
• The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
