ABOUT THIS POSITION:
Expected Rate of Pay: $14-$16/hour depending on qualifications.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (DESCRIPTION):
In this position, you will perform performs routine work in the care and maintenance of Town Parks and Recreation maintained facilities. This is a limited service position eligible for 20 hours per week or 1,000 per year. Limited Service positions do not have benefits.

A SAMPLE OF THE ESSENTIALS (DUTIES & TASKS):

• Responds to calls for service regarding facility and equipment maintenance and troubleshoots problems; makes repairs
• Assists in proper cleaning and maintenance of gym floors and classrooms.
• Performs minor to moderately difficult trades related functions in the maintenance of Town facilities
• Repairs drywall and paints walls as needed.
• Setup and break down tables and chairs in various rooms for special events, classes, and town sponsored programs.
• Cleans floors, walls, windows, blinds, lavatories, fixtures, and bathrooms.
• Sweeps, mops, and dusts assigned areas; changes light bulbs and fixtures; washes windows; fills and stocks restrooms.

Additional Job Duties:

• Performs related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• General knowledge of the tools, materials and equipment used in building maintenance.
• Ability to identify cleaning needs and resolve with appropriate methods and supplies.
• Ability to read and write and understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to operate simple machinery and equipment.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, hearing, and repetitive motions.
• Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently; and/or up to 20 pound of force constantly to move objects.
• Must possess the visual acuity to operate machines and equipment including close inspection of moving and small parts, using measurement devices, assembly, and

fabrication of parts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from high school
• Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in maintenance work preferably in a park setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
