Role Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Crisis Center RN Manager, the Crisis Center Lead LVN is responsible for providing nursing care to all individuals in the Crisis Center (involuntary extended observation unit and voluntary crisis residential unit). The position provides nursing care to individuals with a mental illness and/or a co-occurring substance use/abuse diagnosis along with individuals with a dual diagnosis of mental illness and intellectual or developmental disability. Duties include delivering nursing care as delegated by a RN or physician and determining the predictable healthcare needs of patients. Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, document, and evaluate nursing care provided to patients under the requirements of the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Administrative, oversight, and training duties as assigned by the RN Manager. Works closely with other staff in the Crisis Center to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Performs tasks as assigned by the Crisis Center RN Manager and/or Crisis Center designated psychiatrist. Works as needed during Monday - Friday, utilizing 8 hour shifts (Eve 2:30a to 11:00p) with flexibility to meet program needs. Responsible and accountable for the adherence to and promotion of the compliance policy.
Salary
- $29.50/hour (includes eve shift differential)
Required Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) from a one year college
- Compact license acceptable according to current Board of Nursing requirements.
- 3 years of licensed nursing experience (not including clinical hours required for education)
Preferred Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills
- Experience working with people diagnosed with mental health/behavioral health, and/or substance use diagnosis
- Spanish speaking
Job Related Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform SAMA and CPR.
- Must be able to perform moderate lifting and carrying (15-44#), pushing, stooping, repeated bending, reaching above shoulder, simple grasping, hearing, walking, sitting and twisting.
- Must have ability to see, write, operate office equipment, operate a motor vehicle and have depth perception.
- Qualified individual must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
