The Town of Natick is currently accepting resumes/applications for the full time position of MA Licensed Electrician. The ideal candidate is responsible for the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, building management systems, lighting control systems, equipment, fixtures, fire alarm systems and data communication signal wire installation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities includes:

• Must be able to work assignments from oral instructions, written instructions, sketches, blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Works in accordance with the standard practices of the electrical trade, and in accordance with the current National Electrical Code.
• Performs various types of electrical work in the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, BMS and lighting control systems, fire alarm systems and related equipment.
• Works in support of other department trades, and performs other duties as required.
• From time to time, may be asked to oversee and instruct lesser skilled electrical employees or student employees.
• Works with outside contractors.
• Maintain records, stock lists and department inventory.
• Obtains permits on behalf of the Town, as required.
• Maintains safe workplace and follows necessary safety requirements of the Town.
• Work under the direction of the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Foreman to ensure that the needs of the Town are met in a professional manner.
• Basic computer skills such as e-mail, web searches, and ability to learn new applications.
• Work order processing through a maintenance management system.
• Must exhibit and maintain a customer service focus.
• Works in partnership with various Town departments.
• Must be available to work overtime as needed for after hours call-in and be available in support of Town events or emergencies as needed.

Position Requirements

• High School, Trade or Vocational school degree or equivalent required with five years of industrial experience.
• Must be willing to advance trade knowledge and/or skill level through continuing education when required.
• Must attend required safety and equipment training.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must have and maintain a current Massachusetts Electrician License.
• Thorough knowledge of the National Electric Code with demonstrated ability and skill at reading sketches, blueprints and electrical wiring diagrams.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, benefitted position starting at $36.3500/hr. This full time position includes a lucrative benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance and a defined contribution retirement plan.
