About the Role
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe operation of blow molding, injection molding, and/or one step machine systems and all auxiliary equipment. Performs repetitive production and packing operations to mass produce rigid packaging containers.
- Follows all established safety rules and guidelines. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and managers/supervisors. Properly uses all personal protective equipment.
- Operates machines to include set-up, cleaning, operation and basic maintenance.
- Maintains standard production objectives through proper machine operation, using written work instructions, visual management, and computer interface.
- Accurately completes all production reporting, both electronic and written.
- Performs routine quality inspections using specific written and visual guidelines and ensures accuracy of quality documentation. Has authority to stop machines and production to report malfunctions to the maintenance technician, quality technician, and/or supervisor.
- Responsible for material handling to and from machines, including weighing, tagging and strapping finished product. Operates pallet jack and forklift to move finished product from machine to the staging area.
- Performs preventative maintenance and other routine maintenance tasks on equipment. Assists maintenance in equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
- Ensures the plant and production equipment are clean and free of debris. Cleans production machinery and maintains housekeeping of work areas.
- Performs back-up Palletizer, Downstream, and/or Packer duties as required
- Train lower level Machine Operator employees.
- Follow all HACCP, GMP and Product Safety rules and guidelines
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

About You
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Previous Machine Operator training/experience preferred, or experience in manufacturing processes with demonstration of mechanical aptitude
- Must be willing to work any shift and overtime as required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- High attention to detail and product/process quality
- Ability to manage time independently, make decisions, and complete tasks in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Forklift experience and certification, or willingness to become certified
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

The pay range for the above referenced position is determined by taking into account many factors such as experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, education and other business-related factors. Salary decisions are based on each job. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $22.55 to $24.95.
