RESPONSIBILITIES

• To ensure the production processes within the machine shop are performed correctly in regards to safety, quality, and efficiency
• To direct the machine shop personnel in regards to scheduling production output and the qualifications of the personnel within the workforce
• For reporting to the Plant Manager all issues regarding sub-component supply and workforce shortcomings that may affect the production efficiency of the machine shop
• The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all production personnel follow the written and verbal rules of the company regarding safety, conduct, and work ethics
• To guide and direct the employees in the machine shop in order to maintain a controlled environment and efficient workplace
• To work alongside the Product Engineer during the design of new product and new production processes within the machine shop
• To help in the decisions regarding the acquisition of new machining equipment and tooling
• Schedule production processes throughout the machine shop in order to obtain the optimum production output
• Determine the best use of employees within the machine shop and require more extensive training of personnel if the Supervisor deems is necessary
• Determine if employee actions are to be addressed by reprimand
• Provide information on employees concerning employee performance review
• Authorized to stop a production process if it is determined to be unsafe or not meeting expected process capabilities
• Other duties as required by the Plant Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have prior Machining experience.
• Must have prior Supervisor or Management experience.
• Strong leadership traits.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using computer software (AS400, Microsoft Office Applications, Etc.).

COMPENSATION

• No set rate; pay is dependent on experience and education.
