Overview:
At FutureCare our Maintenance Assistants are responsible for ensuring that the facility and all building systems are kept clean and in good operating condition. They perform weekly maintenance rounds to provide a clean, safe and pleasant environment for staff and our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide ongoing preventative maintenance for the facility, building, building systems, fire/safety equipment and medical equipment
  • Perform all necessary repairs and maintains accurate records and logs and produces required reports
  • Assure compliance with State and Federal Regulatory codes
  • Abide by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment (workshop)
  • Read and log refrigerator temperatures daily
  • Test and log water temperatures daily
  • Observe budgetary guidelines regarding supplies and service
  • Follow proper procedure when obtaining approval prior to ordering supplies
  • Adheres to facility policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Attend all general staff in-services
  • Attend daily departmental meetings
  • Maintain skills and technical education through technical journals and outside seminars
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent education
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents
  • Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors
  • May be required to work outside of normal work hours
